A very impressive and quite similar project to Open_Sailing, the Junkraft, by Dr Marcus Eriksen, Joel Paschal and Anna Cummins. They sailed from California to Hawaii on a raft made with plastic bottle to raise awareness about the topic of the plastic sea, as the plastiki is doing now. How is it actually made? Do bottles resist that much long exposure to salty sea environment? Can we rely on these bottles?
